Prerequisites
- A published agent and active widget deployment.
- A connected CRM integration or HTTPS lead API with a tested create/update operation.
- A clear notice to visitors about what details will be collected and how they will be used.
Build the workflow
- Define no more than the facts a sales team needs to act, such as company, role, need, and preferred follow-up channel.
- Give the agent short instructions for collecting, confirming, and summarizing those facts. Do not promise a meeting or follow-up that your backend has not accepted.
- Assign a CRM or HTTP tool with named, required inputs and an output that contains a stable lead ID. Tools guide.
- Test a complete lead, a refusal to share details, and an interrupted conversation. With Test Mode off, verify exactly one real CRM record was created.
- Embed the widget on a staging page. Consider an engagement delay and respect for visitor preferences; the offer should never bypass the browser’s microphone permission. Embed guide.
create_lead HTTP tool. A useful success result is {"lead_id":"crm_123","status":"created"}. Only then should it say that the inquiry was submitted. This is an example customer tool contract, not a built-in CRM field mapping.
