# Connect a Twilio phone number

> Bind a phone number to a published agent and verify a real spoken call.

## Prerequisites

* A Twilio account and phone number you can configure.
* A published ConverSimple agent.
* Access to **Integrations → Telephony** and **Deployments** in the ConverSimple dashboard.

## Set up

1. Open [Telephony integration](https://app.conversimple.com/integrations/telephony) and connect your Twilio account and number. Follow the webhook details displayed there for that number; do not copy an old test tunnel URL from another environment.
2. Create a **phone** deployment and select the number in the channel configuration. Activate the deployment.
3. Place a real inbound call. Speak a short, distinctive phrase and verify the agent's spoken response.
4. Open the conversation record and timeline. Confirm its direction, transcript, outcome, and any expected tool result. A provider status of “completed” alone does not prove the agent heard and answered.

For an outbound pilot, use the platform's outbound page only with an approved test recipient, then verify the same spoken and stored evidence. The existence of a dial button does not imply campaign scheduling or suppression controls. [Outbound scope](/use-cases/outbound-follow-up).

## Limits

Twilio trial accounts may play their own introductory message and restrict destination numbers. ConverSimple's phone audio path differs from browser WebRTC; browser widget tests do not replace a phone test. Human live transfer is not established by the flow handoff node.
